AIMS: Enhancing Regional Mobility and Learning for Sustainable Development

The Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme is set to convene its 17th Annual Review Meeting on 08 to 09 November 2023, at the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay, Republic of the Philippines. Hosted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Philippines and co-organized by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED), this event serves as a pivotal platform for AIMS government and university representatives, students, and alumni to exchange perspectives, share updates on the programme’s progress, and explore strategies to enhance higher education through regional mobility.

A Focus on Internationalization and Skills Development

The 17th Annual Review Meeting will delve into the crucial theme of “Internationalization and learning for skills, competencies, and credentials to enhance the mobility for students.” This focus reflects the growing recognition of the need to equip students with the skills and competencies required to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and globalized world. The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss best practices and innovative approaches to internationalization, with a particular emphasis on developing skills that are relevant to the needs of employers and industries in the region.

Research Insights and Welcoming a New Member

The meeting will also share the findings of AIMS Research, which has been undertaken to assess the impact of the programme and identify areas for improvement. In addition to these key discussions, the 17th Annual Review Meeting will also serve as a platform to officially welcome the Kingdom of Cambodia as the 10th member of AIMS.
