On 13 December 2022, a conference titled “Celebrating EU-ASEAN People-to-People Cooperation on Higher Education” was held in Brussels, Belgium as one of the side events of the ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit. This hybrid event was co-organized by the EU Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region (SHARE) Programme and the Erasmus+ Programme with the objective of shedding light on the role of higher education and research as a channel to expand ASEAN-EU cooperation.
The keynote presentation was delivered by Prof. Cynthia Bautista, Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University of Philippines. Three sessions were subsequently held focusing on enhancing ASEAN-EU higher education integration efforts, higher education’s impacts on the Global Gateway priorities, and on-going initiatives toward an ASEAN Higher Education Common Space.
