Scholars' ICONS, US ICONS, and iEducation Philippines: The CHED IAS Microsite Launching
Last 14 September 2023, the Commission on Higher Education conducted the ICONS: Models for Transformative Education and the iEducation Philippines: The CHED IAS Microsite Launching at the Monarch Hotel in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
The Commission on Higher Education’s scholarship programs – SGSA and TNE – have produced outstanding scholars who have made significant contributions to their respective fields of study.Through this event, CHED aims to recognize the achievements of these scholars and provide them with a platform to present their breakthrough studies and share their valuable experiences. It will also serve as an avenue for the scholars and trainees to forge wider networks for greater collaboration.
International Champions on Nation-building and Sustainability (ICONS) Models for Transformative Education from US Engagements (US ICONS) event served as an avenue for Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs) and key stakeholders to share experiences, insights and best practices on the internationalization of higher education institutions from the training programs they participated in the U.S. and encourage event participants to participate in similar programs.
The microsite launch was an important event as it formally and officially launched the CHED IAS microsite, iEducation Philippines. The event provided an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of digital presence on internationalization, gather IZN practitioners in the Philippine higher education sector, and reintroduce IAS IZN initiatives and services.
