Quality Assurance and Accreditation

To contribute to the building a quality nation capable of transcending the social, political, economic, cultural and ethical issues  that constrain the country’s human development, productivity and global competitiveness, it is imperative to enhance measures on quality assurance (QA). Thus, the creation of CHED Memorandum Order 46 Series of 2012.

Changing the existing one-size-fits-all QA system to a Typology-based QA enables Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to create a more appropriate QA mechanisms relevant to their respective mission, vision, and goals.

Policies and Procedures for Cross border Higher Education

Transnational Education (TNE)

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) distinguishes the importance of developing a responsive human resource base to pursue internationalization in Philippine higher education. CHED recognizes that globalization and the liberalization of trade in goods and services worldwide have facilitated the growth in higher education internationalization, including transnational education (TNE). TNE means higher education delivered in a country other than the one where an awarding institution is based.

International Linkages and Twinning Programs

International Linkages and Twinning Program Initiatives shall be formally entered by the Philippine higher education institutions with foreign institutions of higher learning through the following modes: inter-university partnership, networking, consortium, linkages and twinning programs.

Higher Education institutions classified as “recognized and accredited” shall be authorized to conduct and initiate linkage and twinning programs with institutions of higher learning abroad. Foreign institutions shall have standards at par with Philippine institutions
